    1. REF: SCPSB/27/02/2021 SPORTS OFFICER J.G CPSB 09 ‘K’

 Positions: - 2

 Terms of Service: - Permanent and Pensionable 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Identifying sports, recreation, leisure and health initiatives and overseeing strategic planning and implementation within the sub county

2. Overseeing the implementation of sports policies in the sub county

3. Making and executing work plans for sports in the sub county

4. Increase participation in sports of all kind. Modern and cultural while addressing the issues of health, crime, doping and inclusion.

5. Identifying, training, supporting, developing and managing coaches , referees, team managers and volunteer staff

6. Raising public awareness of health fitness issues and promoting participation in sports particularly among underrepresented groups e.g. women, girls, people with disabilities, the old and the sick.

7. Evaluating and monitoring activities, programs and projects in sports in the sub county

8. Checking venues and managing sports facilities

9. Liaising with clubs and federations / associations to develop sports competitions, coaching and youth development

10. Working in partnership with school initiatives such as ECDE centers, primary and secondary schools and other institutions of learning, sports associations to tap and nurture talents

11. Provide administrative support together with other officers in the directorate as required.

12. Maintaining records and producing written reports on sports at the sub county for use by the directorate of sports 

13. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor

 

Requirements for Appointment

  For appointment to this post, a candidate must have: - 

1. A Kenyan Citizenship

2. Bachelor’s Degree in sports science; Sports Management; Physical Education; Leisure and Recreation; Education (Sports Science) or any other relevant and equivalent qualification forms a recognized institution of Higher Learning.

3. A Certificate in Computer Applications.

4. Meet requirement of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

 

 

   2. REF: SCPSB/28/02/2021 STADIUM MANAGER J.G CPSB 09 ‘K’

 Positions: - 1

 Terms of Service: - Permanent and Pensionable 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensuring general maintenance and cleanliness of the facility/facilities

2. Ensuring security and safety at the facility

3. Controlling facility diary – bookings and correspondences

4. Making follow ups on correspondences

5. Making adverts on the games

6. Ensuring gate collections, payments of facilities/venues hire fees and rents to the county government whenever there are commercial games/events or tenants.

7. In charge of all the office personnel/stadium attendants taking attendance register, deployment and duty allocation

8. Ensuring marking fields and track for matches and athletic events and national holiday parades.

9. Preparing monthly / Quarterly/ Annual reports of the facilities

10. Secretary to pre-event meeting in high profile matches

11. Responsible for cancellation of games /meets citing security threats

12. Implementing any other duty assigned by the Directorate of sports.

13. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor 

 

Requirements for Appointment

  For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: - 

1. A Kenyan Citizenship

2. Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management; Hospitality; Leisure and Recreation; Estates Management; Facilities Management; Physical Education; Sports Science. or any other relevant and equivalent qualification forms a recognized institution of Higher Learning.

OR

Diploma in Sports Management; Leisure and Recreation; Estates Management; Facilities Management; Physical Education; Sports Science  with a minimum three (3) year experience in sports facilities management as a  Senior Stadium Assistant in public service or equivalent comparable position in the private sector

3. A management course from a recognized institution

4. A Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution.

5. Meet requirement of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010

 

 

 

 

 

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Tax compliance certificates

2. Clearance from HELB where necessary

3. Clearance from the Ethics and anti- corruption commission

4. Clearance from the CRB.

5. Certificate of Good Conduct from the police
