VACANCIES IN THE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF LANDS, PHYSICAL PLANNING, HOUSING & URBAN DEVELOPMENT

 

 

 

   1. COUNTY LANDS RECORDS OFFICER J.G CPSB 06 ‘L’

Positions: - 1

Terms of Service: - Permanent and Pensionable 

 

 Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for overseeing the operations of various land registries in the sub counties

2. Responsible for planning appropriate officer accommodation for registries

3. Prepare and submit budget estimates for registry services

4. Initiate appraisal and disposal of files, documents and records in accordance with Government regulations

5. Be responsible for supervision, guidance and development of staff working under him/her

 

Requirements for Appointment

1. Must be A Kenyan Citizen

2. Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Land Economics, Information Science/Archives Administration/ Records Management or any social science from an Institution recognized in Kenya

3. Master’s Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage

4. Must have served for a minimum period of 3 years or in equivalent and relevant position in the public or private sector.

5. Must be a member of Association of Archives and Records Management officers (ARMRO) or equivalent professional body recognized in Kenya.

6. Must possess Computer Proficiency Certificate

7. Management Course from a recognized institution

 

 

  2. HOUSING OFFICER I J.G CPSB 09 ‘K’

Positions: - 1

Terms of Service: - Permanent and Pensionable 

 

 Duties and Responsibilities

1. Collection of data on housing to up-to-date the housing database and establish the levels of demand and supply.

2. Identification of land for Housing Development

3. Preparing projects briefs

4. Disseminating information of appropriate building technologies to stakeholders

5. Planning and implementing housing and human settlements projects

6. Preparing low cost house type plans and construction manuals.

 

Requirements for Appointment

1. Be a Kenyan Citizen

2. Be in Possession of Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following; Architecture / Interior Design/Landscape Architecture/Civil/Electrical/Mechanical /Structural Engineering, Land Economics/Urban/Regional Planning, Economics/Construction Management/Valuation and Property Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized university.

3. Master’s degree in a relevant filed will be an added advantage

4. Have Membership of a relevant professional body and in good standing

5. Have Computer Proficiency Certificate

 

   3. GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS OFFICER(GIS) J.G CPSB 09 ‘K’

 Positions: - 1

 Terms of Service: - Permanent and Pensionable 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Converting analogue data to digital format using geographic information system(GIS) and other technology

2. Creating and maintaining county Geo- database

3. Analyzing GIS data and preparing maps

4.  Source and extract spatial data from various sources including field records, aerial photographs, satellite imagery and existing maps

5. Analyzing spatial data for reports and

6. Any other duty assigned from time to time.

 

Requirements for Appointment

  For appointment to this post, a candidate must: - 

1. Be a Kenyan Citizen

2. Have Served in the grade of GIS Officer I or any other relevant and comparable position in the Public Service or private sector for a minimum period of three (3) years.

3. Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying /Photogrammetry/Geomatics/Geomatic Engineering/ Geo- informatics/Geo- spatial Engineering/ Geography or   equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

4. A Certificate in Computer Applications.

5. A management Course from a recognized institution.

 

 

   4. PHYSICAL PLANNER I J.G CPSB 09 ‘K’

       Positions: - 2

 Terms of Service: - Permanent and Pensionable 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

This will be the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will entail:

1. Preparing physical development plans; undertaking feasibility studies on physical, social, economic and environmental characteristics;

2. Implementing County physical plans

3. Processing development applications; and

4. Maintaining physical planning records.

    

Requirements for Appointment

  For appointment to this post, a candidate must : - 

1. Be Kenyan Citizen

2. Have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Urban and Regional Planning/ Urban and Regional Planning / Town Planning from a recognized institution;

3. Be a graduate member of any of the following:  Kenya Institute of Planners /Architectural Association of Kenya / Town /County Planning Association of Kenya or equivalent and relevant recognized professional body

4. Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage

5. Have a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

 

 

   5. ASSISTANT CIVIL ENGINEER I J.G CPSB 09 ‘K’

       Positions: - 1

 Terms of Service: - Permanent and Pensionable 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner

2. Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)

3. Prepare structural designs and engineering drawings for buildings, roads, water and waste water facilities.

4. Preparation of bills of quantities and estimates for roadworks and other infrastructural projects.

5. Review of structural designs and drawings submitted by private developers for approvals.

6. Supervision and inspection of roads and building construction works within the Municipality.

7. Inspection of facilities and preparation maintenance procedures for completed infrastructural projects.

8. Conduct site supervision for Municipal projects including roads, water and building projects and preparation of status reports.

9. Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications

10. Monitor progress and compile reports in project status

11. Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required

    

Requirements for Appointment

1. Must be a Kenyan citizen

2. A Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

3. Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage

4. Be registered as a graduate member of engineer’s registration Board of Kenya

5. Must possess computer proficiency Certificate

 

 

   6. PHYSICAL PLANNING ASSISTANT II J.G CPSB 10 ‘J’

       Positions: - 1

 Terms of Service: - Permanent and Pensionable 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Collecting and analyzing geographical data for preparing physical development plans;

2. Data to digital formats using Geographic Information System (GIS) and other technology;

3. Designing, symbolizing, layout preparation, printing/ plotting and plan finishing; conducting site inspection; and

4. Updating plans.

    

Requirements for Appointment

  For appointment to this post, a candidate must have: - 

1. Kenyan Citizen

2. Diploma in any of the following areas: Urban Planning/ Regional Planning/Regional Planning/Urban Planning/ Building /Civil Engineering/Cartography/Geo-informatics/Geographic Information System (GIS) from an institution recognized in Kenya.

3. Served in the grade of physical planning assistant III for a minimum period of three (3) years in the public organization or equivalent and relevant grade in the private sector organization.

4. Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

All applicants are expected to present the following additional documents during interviews for purpose of complying with the provision of Chapter Six of the Constitution

 

1. Tax compliance certificates

2. Clearance from HELB where necessary

3. Clearance from the Ethics and anti- corruption commission

4. Clearance from the CRB.

5. Certificate of Good Conduct from the police
